Cristina's Profile
Cristina works in her
native Brazilian Portuguese,
Spanish and Catalan languages,
and in English with a Latin European – South American accent
which sounds difficult to place with precision.
Born to Spanish parents in São Paulo, Brazil, where she attended a French school for 12 years, and having lived in 3 different countries, Cristina has a natural international background, which allows her a broad range of work, voice and acting wise.
Her natural Brazilian accent when speaking in Portuguese is polished and well-articulated: the equivalent of what in English would be considered RP.
From a native perspective, it is defined as a neutral São Paulo upper-middle-class accent, which allowed her suitability for corporate voice work (Experian, Massey Fergusson), Educational recordings (Edutec System – History books and story books), and any sort of public engagement narrations and presenting (Eyetech, audiocues for film, journalistic announcements, radio spots).
She has also a versatile range of character voices, portraying different characters in storytelling and voice over.
Cristina is an actress who recently graduated from an MA at RADA.
Whilst studying acting in São Paulo, she worked at Comparsaria Theatre Company and SBT Channel.
She continued her acting training in Barcelona, where she also worked professionally in a range of productions in Spanish and Catalan.
Briefly after arriving in London, she started landing roles in English in several plays, including Macbeth (Barons Court Theatre and Upstairs at the Gatehouse), in short films, webseries (“It’s Not You…”, “The Bloody Mary Show”), presenting and doing voice.
Awards include “Best Actress” in the Campinas Festival of short plays, as Willy in “This property is condemned”, by Tennessee Williams (dir: Rafael Rios), part of “Best Comedy Ensemble” for the webseries “The Bloody Show”, “Best Film” by popular choice in the LFA screening for “Lifetime Guarantee” (role: lead female) (which was also selected to screen at the 52nd Krakow Film Festival), and “Best Play” for adapted “The Intruder”, by Maurice Maeterlinck (role: Ursula and her sisters) in the 11º Curta Teatro de Piracicaba (Piracicaba’s International Festival of short plays).
