Anne-Sophie's Profile

Anne-Sophie-Headshot-2014

Warm, engaging, calm, cultured and intelligent are the main attributes of her speaking voice;

her singing voice is playful and soulful.

Anne-Sophie was born and raised in Paris and spent her adult life between England, North America and Ireland. She has a BA in Comparative Literature (Francophone-Anglophone) and an Associate's Degree in Acting from the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts.

Her natural accent in English is therefore a transatlantic blend with a very light French touch, while her accent in French remains the neutral Parisian it's always been.

Anne-Sophie's singing training is grounded in classical, Musical Theatre, and singing Piaf songs while cooking with her grandmother as a child.

She enjoys traditional French songs (Piaf, Brel, Trenet, Brassens) and jazzy tunes (Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holliday), while at the same time singing with classical chamber choir Les Fauristes in London.

As a choir singer she's sang all parts from Alto 2 to Soprano 1, and to this day her repertoire is an alto-mezzo-soprano blend.

Anne-Sophie came back from New York & Minneapolis with a fondness for Kander & Ebb, Sondheim, and Vietnam-war era musicians such as Joan Baez and Bob Dylan. She also loves rock music and is a bit of a Jessye Norman fan.

Anne-Sophie completed the voice-over section of her drama school training at the Actors Centre with Tom Clarke-Hill. She's always excited to do voices. Animation voice credits to date include Audrey, a very Audrey Hepburn-like daddy's girl, and Tyra, a French Fry suffering from PTSD.

When she's not acting in films, playing with Shakespeare and working in voice-overs, Anne-Sophie writes in both languages and translates English to French and French to English.
